Protect Our Stream!    Falling Spring is a precious ecological jewel for both recreation and environmental reasons. Google Falling Spring and you will find just how recognized she is among sportsmen and anglers.  The Falling Spring Branch has been recognized by the PA Fish and Boat Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection as follows: High Quality-Cold Water Fishery. Heritage Trout stream. Limestone spring fed stream. Natural trout reproduction limestone stream.

Protect Our Property Values!  Pen Mar Regional Realtor Association- all offices in Franklin and Fulton County, PA, and Washington Co, MD- testified, on record, to oppose Transource, since all would be affected by decrease in property values. This ripple effect would also affect local tax base and local schools and services.

Protect Our Neighbors!  93 Landowners in Franklin County are threatened with property seizures.  Order of Court 7-9-2018 "Transource PA must show that the exercise of eminent domain is "necessary or proper for the service, accommodation, convenience, or safety of the public" to support the taking.  If such takings are necessary to provide electrical service to members of public who would otherwise be unserved by public utilities, they are for a public purpose." Transource clearly does not meet this criteria.

Protect Our Farmland!  Transource neglected to look at alternative routes, such as in refurbishing and using parallel existing routes. Instead, they offered up this greenfield project, grabbing private land for new construction, for their profit.  As a private company they are even trying to use eminent domain to condemn private land and farms protected through the agricultural preservation program, for their own profit.

Protect Our Valley!  Franklin County Visitor's Bureau is on record opposing Transource, contending, "It will have long-term effects on viewshed and agriculture, which will negatively impact tourism and our local economy." South Mountain Partnership, with a mission of conserving landscape resources, is also on record as opposed. Artist concept -monopoles; view from Valley View across Mont Alto

Protect Our Cross Country Course!  The CASD cross-country course and Tim Cook Memorial will be negatively changed if not destroyed forever. Students from around the state make use of this beautiful course, as do community members.

Protect Our School!  Numerous concerned parents and residents of Falling Spring testified at public input hearings and have expressed concerns to CASD Board of Directors and Administration over potential health issues of children and staff, loss of educational environment, and use of public property for private profit. Falling Spring Elementary is a Blue Ribbon School, and should be supported by denying Transource a right-of-way on district property.

Protect Our Businesses! Imagine results of construction of these monstrosities, alone, on traffic and commerce.  Franklin County Area Development Corporation calls this "a terrible project", and all Township Supervisors (Guilford, Quincy, Washington) and County Commissioners are on record opposing, citing wear and tear on local infrastructure, among other reasons.

Protect our Watershed!  Many Franklin County citizens use well water, and any damage to water table could be devastating! For example, the Falling Spring Stream will be crossed to the east of FS Elementary at Skelly Meadows.  This immediate area is known as Aqua and there are at least seven springs feeding into the stream at this point. This is a fragile area, which drilling and blasting could destroy forever.
